Bats, mats and other cricketing equipment were stolen from the luggage of Delhi Capitals’ Indian Premier League (IPL) players after landing at Delhi airport from Bengaluru, sources said.
Sources told ANI the players only found out about the incident a day later when bags of kit arrived from the consignment. Almost all players were without bats, with hitter Yash Dhull missing at least five bats. Bats for foreign players are worth Rs 100,000 each.
DC is currently discussing how they can address this issue and get help from the police.
Notably, Delhi Capitals are bottom of the IPL 2023 points table. They have lost five games so far.
Delhi Capitals lost their last match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15.
The team’s next match will be against Kolkata Knights (KKR) on April 20 at Delhi’s home stadium, Arun Jaitley Stadium.
